This project was eye opening for me in understanding how package designs are made. It reminded me of doing paper crafts when I was younger. I wanted to refresh the Celestial Seasonings tea boxes with a mix of their current yet old design, and their modern redesign that they did a while back, but quickly reverted. I made aesthetically cleaner, and more modern choices for graphics, and fonts, while still maintaining the original's vibe. I thought mixing the redesign logo with the original logo (but vectorized) was quite clever. I made the little patterns throughout the boxes more unique to each flavor, including the ingredients of the flavors within the pattern.
I'm not the best at crafts, my hand is just not steady enough, but I did the best I could when turning the prints into boxes. Had to use paper, so that certainly made the process more difficult, and the result more flimsy. Despite that, I think the printed piece looks better than the digital dieline. Something about the slight texture, ever so different colors, and 3D-ness just adds so much.
